Since 2016, Juanita has had hands-on experience in mainly criminal litigation involving serious crimes. She is further exposed to civil litigation such as banking and finance, construction matters, personal injury and property disputes.
On the 17th of March 2022, Juanita was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. She also graduated with a Master of Laws in Bar Practice for work in pro-bono cases focused on Children Family Law conducted by the Litigation Programme at the University of Law, London.
On the 11th of May 2023, Juanita was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam. By June 2023, she started conducting criminal trials at the Intermediate Court for a case involving the Children and Young Persons Act. At the same time, Juanita was also appointed to act as Defence Counsel in a high-profile case concerning the offence of cheating by deception through a conspiracy.
